
On the 10th, Jeong Won-o, the Democratic Party's Seoul mayoral primary candidate, announced that his campaign has finalized its team and is launching a full-scale election effort.
Several senior party officials have joined Jeong's campaign. Rep. Lee Hae-sik of Seoul's Gangdong district will serve as chair of the campaign committee, overseeing the overall operation. Rep. Chae Hyun-il of Yeongdeungpo A will direct the campaign headquarters and manage day-to-day operations. Rep. Oh Ki-hyung of Dobong will serve as policy chief.
Rep. Lee Jeong-heon of Gwangjin A has joined as chief spokesperson and head of media communications. Rep. Park Min-gyu of Gwanak A will lead strategy and organization, taking charge of the campaign's core operations.
Former lawmaker Park Kyung-mi, who served in the 20th National Assembly and as a Blue House spokesperson, relinquished her party spokesperson role to become the campaign's spokesperson. Shin Hyun-young, a physician and former lawmaker from the 21st National Assembly, will chair the campaign's policy advisory group.
Former journalists have also been brought into the team. Lim Kwang-gi, a former director of the National Assembly Broadcasting Station and ex-SBS editorial writer, and Moon So-young, former editorial chief at the Seoul Shinmun, will serve respectively as director and deputy director of the communications special advisory team. Former Unification Minister Lee Jae-jung has been named chair of the campaign's fundraising committee.
Jeong said he has assembled a \"working campaign\" of hands-on experts to drive a policy- and pledge-focused election campaign.
