On March 25 (local time), U.S. music magazine Rolling Stone published its annual Future 25 on its website. The feature assembles 25 people, groups and business figures that the magazine believes will drive change in the music industry through bold, innovative ideas.
Rolling Stone singled out TWS (Shin-yu, Dohun, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, Kyungmin) as one of the most intriguing and energetic young acts in K-pop today, praising their music, commanding stage presence and model-like visuals.
The magazine noted that TWS has crafted a feel-good pop sound marked by retro vibes, lush harmonies and clever lyrics. It called “OVERDRIVE,” the title track from their fourth mini album Play Hard, a word-of-mouth hit and described the pre-release single “Head Shoulders Knees Toes” as an explosively vivid track.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, TWS framed their approach as “Boyhood Pop,” a concept that keeps expanding to encompass exhilaration, calm and consolation, and raw power. “Whatever music we make, we want to give listeners positive energy,” the group said.
This year’s Future 25 also featured Grammy winner Lola Young, who took home Best Pop Solo Performance at the 68th Grammy Awards, and Latin band Fuerza Regida, which won four Billboard Music Awards across 2023 and 2024. Sharing space with those acts underscores TWS’s growing global profile.
TWS will begin a three-day run of fan events at Ticketlink Live Arena (formerly the Handball Gymnasium) in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, beginning March 27, for the 2026 TWS 2ND FANMEETING '42:CLUB' IN SEOUL.
