[Sports Seoul | Reporter Yoon Dong-eon] TWICE member Momo disclosed she underwent a tooth extraction while on the group's world tour, prompting concern among fans.
On a fan communication platform, Momo wrote, "I suddenly had to have a tooth pulled in Chicago. It's only been a short time since the extraction, and the left side of my face is still swollen. Please understand if I look swollen."
She said severe tooth pain left her unable to sleep during the Chicago show, and she visited a local dentist the following day. The dentist found that an area that had previously received root canal treatment had deteriorated, and with the tour schedule she couldn't return to Korea for treatment.
To keep performing, Momo opted for extraction. "I hadn't originally thought it needed to be pulled, but we didn't have time," she said. "Because I had to perform, the dentist and I, after much consideration, decided to extract it. I really didn't want to have it removed, but we had no choice." She added, "I'll probably get an implant once I return to Korea."
