[MyDaily = Reporter Seo Gi-chan] LeeZu (born Lee Jun-young), a singer-songwriter and composer who earned widespread acclaim, has died at 42.
On May 4, fellow composer XeoN (real name Wang Jeong-hyun) announced the heartbreaking news on social media, writing, \"My friend and the DJMAX composer we love, LeeZu, has embarked on a long journey alone.\"
He urged people to remember the many songs LeeZu left behind and to pay tribute so his final journey would not be lonely, offering his sincere condolences.
LeeZu contributed music to numerous video games — including the DJMAX series — and developed a distinct musical voice.
After getting married he moved to the countryside and kept in touch with fans through his YouTube channel. In 2023 he announced his divorce and the couple went their separate ways.
The cause of death has not been disclosed. Fans were particularly shaken by the final upload he posted to his YouTube channel \"Wandering Unemployed\" on the 25th of last month.
At that time he published a video and song titled \"Goodbye,\" leaving the message, \"Thank you to everyone, and I'm sorry.\"
