Ten Asia conducted the vote from the 2nd through the 8th, asking readers, “Which female singer would you want to share an umbrella with during spring rain?”
Wendy claimed first place. A social media post that circulated recently showed her attending and singing at a fan’s wedding — a fan who has supported Red Velvet since her senior year of high school. At the ceremony, Wendy recalled, “I debuted on August 14, 2014, and I first saw her then. The bride was a high school senior at the time. It’s already been 11½ years.” She added that when the fan once asked, “If I get married in the future, would you sing at my wedding?” she answered, “Of course I would,” a gesture that touched many fans.
Girls’ Generation’s Yuri placed second. She was honored with a commendation as an exemplary taxpayer. On the 9th, the Gangnam District Office in Seoul held the “2026 Exemplary Taxpayer Commendation Ceremony” and presented awards to 10 exemplary taxpayers — five individuals and five corporations — recognized for their responsible tax contributions to the community. Yuri, who is active as both a singer and actress, was among the honorees but did not attend because of a theater rehearsal.
Third place went to Carmen of Hats to Hats. The group’s debut single “The Chase” surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, making Hats to Hats the first K-pop girl group that debuted last year to reach that milestone. Released in February last year, “The Chase” carries a confident message about carving your own path and conveys the excitement and curiosity of stepping into a new world. The track frames the group’s first steps toward their dreams with a dreamy, mysterious atmosphere.
Ten Asia’s website is currently hosting additional polls on topics including “Which female singer would make you most excited to see in person?”, “Which male singer would make you most excited to see in person?”, and the same questions for trot singers of both genders.
