Indie053, an incorporated association led by Lee Chang-won, is seeking participants for a collaborative songwriting project that turns the everyday lives and memories of Daegu-area youth into original music and art.
The project is part of the 2026 Kkumdarak Arts School program Jakdangmoi and is organized by the Daegu Cultural Arts Promotion Agency, with Indie053 responsible for planning and operations. Under the slogan “Compose Boldly! Gather Together, Create with Meaning!,” the program focuses on process-based arts education: teens will share memories tied to specific Daegu locations and work to translate those memories into music.
Participants will collaborate on every step — from selecting a site and writing lyrics to composing melody and rhythm and recording — to complete a single song. A music video will be filmed at the featured location, and the program will culminate in a listening event for family and friends.
The program runs for 20 sessions on Saturdays from May 16 through Oct. 24, 2026, and will be held at the Nam-gu venue Ddeutbak Community Space (244 Hyeonchung-ro, Nam-gu, Daegu).
Middle and high school students who reside in Daegu may apply. Any young person with a passion for music is welcome. Applications are due by 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2026. For details, visit Indie053's website. Inquiries: 053-218-3051
