[CBC News] Singer Soyou releases her third EP, 'Off Hours,' at 6 p.m. today (29) on major streaming platforms and begins promotional activities.
The record is built around stepping away from a hectic routine to spend focused time on the self. Soyou turns the emotions and inner narratives she experiences as an individual into the music.
The indie-pop title track 'Girl' centers on the refrain 'I am not a cool girl,' a candid admission of the turmoil she feels under public scrutiny.
In the lead-up to the release, her label, Magic Strawberry Sound, posted track previews and a music-video teaser across its official social channels. In the clip, Soyou appears in chic styling and sunglasses, projecting a more charismatic image that has heightened fans' anticipation.
Since joining Magic Strawberry Sound in 2025, Soyou has demonstrated a husky vocal tone and subtle expressiveness on the pre-release single 'See Through' and the drama 'Scarecrow' OST 'Tonight.' With that foundation, 'Off Hours' is poised to deepen her connection with listeners.
Soyou's new EP 'Off Hours' will be available to stream starting at 6 p.m. today.
