Set in Tokyo in May 1984, the documentary follows Sakamoto as he immerses himself in work on a new solo album, "Music Compendium." It captures his daily routine and creative impulses, offering a portrait of a passionate Sakamoto in his 30s who moved fluidly between electronic music and film scores, against the lively backdrop of 1980s Tokyo.Among the film’s highlights are Sakamoto’s main theme for the movie "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" — in which he both acted and composed — and standout tracks from "Music Compendium."[판씨네마㈜ The same day also saw the release of "Queen: Rock Montreal," a concert film that restores the legendary rock group’s 1981 performance in 4K. Packed with classics — from "Bohemian Rhapsody" to "We Will Rock You," "We Are the Champions," and "Somebody to Love" — the film recreates the electricity of the stage: Freddie Mercury’s explosive vocals, tens of thousands singing in unison, Brian May’s intricate guitar work, John Deacon’s weighty bass, and Roger Taylor’s raw drumming, all delivered with vivid concert realism.On April 29, "Vivaldi and Me" opens. The film is a historical fiction that follows Cecilia, an orphan at Venice’s Pietà in the early 18th century, whose encounter with Antonio Vivaldi helps her blossom into a musical talent amid the trials of growing up. Set during the period when Baroque master Vivaldi came to the Pietà as a music teacher, the film is directed by opera director Damiano Michieletto and features Vivaldi masterpieces such as "The Four Seasons," "Juditha Triumphans," and "Nisi Dominus."[해피송 Opening May 13, "Michael" chronicles Michael Jackson’s electrifying performances and songs and traces his journey to becoming one of the world’s most celebrated artists.
