[EPN NPinow reporter Go Nari] BTS's V turned heads worldwide with a daring new look.
On April 4, V posted several photos to his social media account under the caption "Jweims 2.0." In the images, he wears a classic three-piece suit and sports a drawn-on beard, channeling the brooding presence of a noir-film protagonist.
The photos were shot on the set of the music video for "2.0," a track from BTS's newly released fifth studio album, Arirang. The video nods to an iconic sequence from Park Chan-wook's Oldboy and generated immediate buzz. In the moody, low-lit scenes, V commands attention with piercing eyes and an intense expression.
V had long expressed a desire to experiment with facial hair, and this promotional cycle finally realized that wish. He upgraded the "Jweims" persona he introduced at past concerts into "Jweims 2.0," giving fans a fresh, playful twist on the character.
Director Lee Han-gyeol and executive producer Jung Noel, who led the "2.0" music video, publicly thanked Taehyung on social media for pitching the concept's comedic element.
Fans have responded enthusiastically. On short-form platforms like TikTok, a viral challenge recreating V's dance with a piece of candy in his mouth has spread widely, keeping the track's momentum strong.
With Arirang, BTS blends traditional Korean motifs with contemporary production, and the album continues to resonate across the global music market.
