[Goyang, Gyeonggi — TV Daily reporter Hwang Seo-yeon] BTS has officially ushered in its \"2.0\" era. After a mandatory military hiatus, the seven members returned having each pursued solo projects, and they filled the stadium with a more mature, expansive show.

On the evening of April 11, the second night of BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN GOYANG took place at the main stadium of Goyang Sports Complex in Ilsanseo‑gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi.

The group is using this large-scale world tour to signal a new chapter. It marks the first major tour since April 2022’s BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE, and—paired with March’s fifth studio album ARIRANG—fans and industry observers are calling it the turning point for \"BTS 2.0.\"

The Goyang dates were particularly resonant: a homecoming that tied the group’s present work to their roots. The set drew heavily from ARIRANG, offering numerous new tracks alongside global hits and arranging the songs to trace the band’s artistic journey in a layered, cinematic way.

Tickets sold out immediately, packing roughly 44,000 fans into the stadium on opening night. Across three days, about 132,000 people will attend the Goyang shows. ARMYs from Japan, China, Southeast Asia, Europe, North and South America joined local fans in Goyang to celebrate the group’s return.

Production leaned heavily into Korean aesthetics, a choice that dovetailed with ARIRANG’s themes. The band revisited their origins and identity on the album and translated those reflections into stagecraft. A pavilion inspired by Gyeonghoeru sat at the 360‑degree center stage, while the stage floor referenced the Taegeuk motif. A circular Taegeuk emblem anchored a protruding stage that extended outward, its geometry drawing on the flag’s Geon‑Gon‑Gam‑Ri symbolism.

The show opened with dancers carrying red flares and unfolded across three chapters. Act 1, \"BTS,\" began with the new tracks Hooligan and Aliens, delivering an immediate jolt. The set moved into Run BTS—first teased at BTS Yet to Come in Busan in October 2022—which further stoked the crowd. One standout moment saw Jungkook grab a passing drone and use it like a handheld selfie camera, drawing rapturous cheers.

Addressing the audience, the members emphasized how much new ground the show covers. Jimin said, \"It’s been four years since we released an album called ARIRANG and six and a half years since we went on a concert tour. We wanted to try a lot of new things with the album and in many other ways.\" Suga added, \"We prepared to show an even newer side. We worked hard on the staging, the arrangements and many of the elements. It may feel unfamiliar, but please enjoy it to the end; we’ll do our best.\"

In They Don't Know 'Bout Us, screens projected reinterpreted traditional masks, reinforcing the concert’s Korean visual language. For title track SWIM, the stage used a massive sheet to simulate waves. Merry Go Round employed white fabric inspired by Seungmu (a classical Buddhist dance), and when the cloth met the circular stage it evoked a carousel spinning into view.

After a VCR segment, Act 2, \"KOREA,\" delivered some of the night’s most intense staging. The 2.0 performance hit with precision, and NORMAL turned the stadium into one vast singalong. NORMAL’s visuals leaned on an ink‑wash animation concept for a distinctive look. The set then surged through hits like Not Today and MIC Drop, and a medley of FYA and FIRE drove the energy to its peak.

Body to Body referenced Ganggangsullae circle dance movements and mixed in fireworks, prompting the audience to join a chorus of Arirang—sampled in the performance—which perfectly underscored the \"Korea\" chapter. For IDOL, the members left the stage to run along the stadium track. RM, still managing a leg injury, rode in a palanquin while the others marched ahead, narrowing the distance with fans.

Fans began singing Young Forever and Spring Day during the wait for the encore, creating an impromptu moment of unity. Act 3, \"ARIRANG,\" served as the de facto encore, opening with Come Over, a hidden track from the Arirang deluxe LP. Wearing casual outfits, the members traversed the audience in both directions, making 360‑degree eye contact with fans. They then closed with Butter—ten weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100—and Dynamite, the single that delivered their first Hot 100 chart‑topper, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

For the city‑specific encore, they premiered a live performance of Take Two, a song released during their military hiatus. Its lyrics—apt for a band launching a new era—merged with the fans’ choral response and bathed the venue in purple. Jimin thanked Suga, the song’s producer, saying, \"I feel like I got through the military because of this song.\" The night continued with DNA, during which V and Jimin added spontaneous moves that drew loud applause.

Jimin told the crowd, \"It’s been six and a half years since we started touring and four years since the album came out. We’ve missed you so much, and I really wanted to say thank you for waiting.\" He added, \"We’ll keep working to bring you great stages and music, so please stay with us. We’ll be by your side from now on, too. We love you.\"

RM bowed deeply, thanking fans for their patience and support. \"We talk about many changes,\" he said, \"but the most important thing hasn’t changed: the seven of us decided to keep doing this, and our sincere thoughts for you.\" He closed by asking the audience to accept their evolution and to trust them one more time: \"Thank you and we love you.\"

After the final greetings, the band performed Please and Into the Sun—songs about moving forward together with fans—bringing the show to a fireworks‑filled finale.

BTS will play Tokyo Dome on April 17–18 before continuing the tour across 34 cities with 85 shows in North America, Europe, South America and Asia. The run is the most dates on a single tour by a Korean artist; additional shows in Japan and the Middle East are expected to expand the itinerary further.
