Sorento-level specs: global debut in South Korea

Chinese electric-brand Zeekr is moving aggressively into South Korea.
Zeekr Korea used its official YouTube channel, "Zeekr Is Watching," on March 27, 2026, to confirm plans to launch the mid-size electric SUV 7X in Korea. Priced in the roughly 50 million KRW (37,500 USD) range, the model is being pitched squarely against the Kia Sorento.

Zeekr is Geely’s premium electrified marque; Geely also owns Volvo and Polestar.
Following BYD, Zeekr is the second Chinese EV brand to officially enter the Korean market. Backed by a global automaker with established development capabilities, its arrival has attracted industry attention.

Sorento-level specs: global debut in South Korea
The 7X is a facelifted model, and South Korea will be the first market outside China to get it.
Measurements are 4,825 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,656 mm tall, putting the 7X nearly on par with the Kia Sorento (4,815 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, 1,695 mm tall). The 7X rides on Geely’s SEA architecture, the same platform underpinning the Polestar 4 — a platform already familiar to Korean consumers.

Battery options include Zeekr’s in-house 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack and a 100 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) pack supplied by CATL, the world’s largest battery maker.
In China the 7X is priced from 229,800 to 269,800 CNY — roughly 50.16 million to 58.89 million KRW (about 37,620–44,168 USD). Zeekr says it will confirm the final Korean retail price after completing local certification.
All-door auto open, 21 speakers: competing on features

Zeekr is leaning heavily on features. The 7X offers automatic doors for every seat — a segment first — designed to simplify entry and exit, especially for older drivers and passengers.
Optional amenities include a temperature-controlled fridge that works from −6°C to 50°C (about 21°F to 122°F).
An interior "Stargate" lighting element made of 1,000 LEDs provides a strong visual sense of premium, though Zeekr has not confirmed whether that feature will be included on Korean-spec models.
The optional Zeekr Sound Pro system uses 21 speakers, including headrest speakers for the driver and front passenger. On the ADAS side, the 7X comes standard with Level 2 driver assists — radar- and camera-based adaptive cruise, lane-centering and automatic lane-change. Due to local rules, Zeekr expects to omit lidar, which limits the package’s path to full autonomy.
Former Audi Korea chief joins as Zeekr accelerates infrastructure build-out
Zeekr Korea incorporated in 2025 and tapped former Audi Korea CEO Hyun-ki Lim as its country head. The hire signals an intent to build brand credibility quickly with local buyers by placing experienced premium-brand leadership in charge.
Sales will run through four dealer networks — H Mobility ZK, Iron EV, KCC Mobility and ZK Mobility — and Zeekr plans at least one service center in each major region, including Jeju Island.
Zeekr also has wider ambitions: MPV 009, shooting-brake 007 GT and large SUVs 8X and 9X are slated for phased introduction. The company says launch timing for follow-up models will reflect Korean consumer response.
The domestic mid-size electric-SUV segment is highly competitive, led by Hyundai and Kia. Zeekr is entering with several class-first features, a CATL battery partnership and the proven Geely SEA platform. After certification, local pricing and real-world performance will be decisive for the 7X’s market prospects.
