Seom Air secures AOC; regular Gimpo–Sacheon flights begin on the 30th
On the 10th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport completed verification of Seom Air’s safety and operations systems and issued the AOC under the Aviation Safety Act. Seom Air will begin scheduled commercial service on the Gimpo–Sacheon route starting the 30th.
Seom Air will begin non-scheduled Gimpo–Sacheon flights on the 12th, operating two round trips per day, six days a week. From the 30th, the airline will increase to four round trips daily. Tickets go on sale that afternoon via Seom Air’s official website.
“With the AOC secured, we are formally launching as a regional air mobility carrier that connects islands with the mainland—linking schools to hospitals and workplaces to homes,” Seom Air CEO Choi Yong-deok said. “We aim to close gaps in aviation infrastructure and grow into a regional airline that local communities rely on and embrace.”
After launching Gimpo–Sacheon service, Seom Air plans to expand routes to Gimpo–Ulsan, Sacheon–Jeju, Ulsan–Jeju and Gimpo–Daemado (Tsushima). The carrier also plans to phase in service to island airports such as Ulleungdo, Heuksando and Baengnyeongdo.
