Seom Air said the AOC formally confirms that it passed verification of its safety-management systems and met all regulatory requirements to begin commercial operations.
The airline will begin commercial service on the Gimpo–Sacheon route on March 30, operating four round trips daily.
Seom Air plans to expand beyond Gimpo–Sacheon to routes including Gimpo–Ulsan; Sacheon–Jeju and Ulsan–Jeju; and Gimpo–Tsushima (Tsushima, Japan). The carrier also plans to phase in service to island airports such as Ulleungdo, Heuksando and Baengnyeongdo.
Choi Yong-deok, Seom Air’s CEO, said, "Since we founded Seom Air in 2022, our entire staff has spent the past four years asking themselves, 'Are we qualified to fly?' as they prepared for operations. We will operate short, low-demand routes that full-service and low-cost carriers have shunned for profitability reasons, help close gaps in aviation infrastructure, and grow into a regional airline that is valued by local communities."
