KG Mobilians, a full-service payments company, is formally entering South Korea’s electric-vehicle (EV) charging market by introducing mobile payments across charging platforms.

The service lets EV drivers use postpaid mobile payments in addition to traditional credit cards. Drivers can begin charging and complete payment in a single step using only a smartphone, eliminating the need for a physical card. The mobile-payment rollout also expands the range of accepted payment methods at charging stations.
KG Mobilians plans to deploy the mobile-payment system across major domestic EV charging platforms in the second quarter.
As the No. 1 mobile-payment provider in South Korea, KG Mobilians has been expanding acceptance into a variety of everyday payment categories. Adding EV-charging payments extends the company’s reach into the mobility sector.
A KG Mobilians spokesperson said, "As South Korea’s EV market grows rapidly, demand for convenient payment options at charging stations is rising. We plan to expand mobile-payment acceptance into mobility and lifestyle platforms and other areas as the market evolves."
