The two co-hosts took a bold step to boost the summit’s impact ahead of the main session on June 30 at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry: each organization appointed the other’s top operational leader as an advisor to the partner institution in a move meant to maximize event synergy.
At the launch, KFMSA Vice Chair Lee Seong-hyun was named mobility advisor to The Korea Herald. Leveraging his hands-on experience and association expertise, Lee is expected to guide the newsroom in securing future-industry content and translating key insights from the mobility ecosystem for the public.
Kim Young-sang, president of The Korea Herald, was formally appointed media advisor to KFMSA. Organizers said the decision reflects a shared strategy to entrust media experts with shaping domestic and international opinion and leading global promotion efforts as K-mobility services aim to set global standards.
The appointments, issued jointly in the names of KFMSA Chair Lee Seok-gu and Herald Media Group CEO Choi Jin-young, were framed by organizers as a strategic move to realize FAMS 2026’s slogan, “Motion to Emotion.”
As media advisor, Kim Young-sang will leverage his global network to help Korea’s AI mobility services build international credibility. As mobility advisor, Lee Seong-hyun will reframe industry shifts at the technology-service intersection from a media perspective and help develop policy recommendations.
With Kim and Lee acting as bridges between their organizations, the June 30 summit at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry is expected to be more than a forum: organizers say it will launch a “global mobility Silk Road” where industry and media present a unified voice.
About 100 mobility leaders attended the launch, including ITF Secretary-General Kim Young-tae and Park Jun-hyung, director of Mobility and Automotive at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Organizers also finalized MOUs among seven strategic institutions and established 19 specialized committees that day.
