The film spotlights four systems: Pedal Misapplication Safety Assist (PMSA), Acceleration Limiting Assist (ALA), i‑Pedal 3.0, and Smart Regenerative Braking System 3.0.
PMSA relies on ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles and their distance, intervening in vehicle control if the driver excessively depresses the accelerator.
ALA is built around the vehicle’s integrated control unit (VPC). By fusing forward-camera input with navigation data, it identifies instances of excessive acceleration, issues staged warnings to the driver, and limits throttle response.
i‑Pedal 3.0 enables one-pedal driving: drivers can accelerate, slow down, and bring the vehicle to a complete stop using only the accelerator, with energy recovered through regenerative braking.
Smart Regenerative Braking System 3.0 automatically adjusts regenerative braking intensity based on traffic flow detected by the forward camera and route information from the navigation system.
A Kia spokesperson said, "We will continue advancing electrification technologies that combine safety and convenience."
