Launch of Upgraded Model
Eco SUV with 20.2 km/L (47.5 mpg US) Fuel Economy
Expanded Advanced Safety and Convenience Features

Kia has revealed an upgraded version of its flagship eco SUV, the Niro — branded \"The New Niro\" — and began taking orders on the 10th.
This update builds on the second-generation Niro introduced in 2022 and represents the model's first substantive mid-cycle refresh in about four years.
The Niro retains a combined fuel economy of 20.2 km/L (47.5 mpg US) while Kia sharpened the design and added safety and convenience features to boost its market competitiveness.
Refined Exterior and Interior Design

The exterior reflects Kia's \"Opposite United\" design philosophy.
At the front, Kia fitted Starmap signature daytime running lights that emphasize horizontal and vertical lines for a modern look. The side profile completes a refined silhouette with a smooth roofline and restrained body lines.
Inside, Kia fitted a panoramic curved display that combines a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and infotainment screen. A double D-cut two-tone steering wheel and new patterned interior trim further enhance the cabin's premium atmosphere.
Efficiency and Ride Comfort Both Improved

The Niro is powered by a 1.6-liter hybrid system that produces 141 horsepower and 27.0 kgf·m of torque (about 195.3 lb-ft). Its combined fuel economy of 20.2 km/L (47.5 mpg US) ranks among the best in its class.
The smart regenerative braking system automatically adjusts regeneration levels based on the distance to the vehicle ahead and road information. In addition, a predictive hybrid control system analyzes driving routes and road conditions to optimize battery use.
Kia also retuned the suspension and improved the body's sound insulation to boost ride comfort and cabin quietness.
Expanded Connectivity and Safety Features

Kia has added a range of modern convenience features to the Niro.
Key additions include over-the-air (OTA) software updates, Digital Key 2, Walk-Away Lock, and Stay Mode to enhance overall vehicle usability.
Safety equipment has also been strengthened: the Niro now comes standard with 10 airbags and expands advanced driver-assist features such as Highway Driving Assist 2, Lane Keeping Assist 2 and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist.
The in-car digital experience is further enhanced with Kia Connect Store integration and natural-language AI voice recognition.
Owners have reported city fuel economy figures as high as 30 km/L (about 70.6 mpg US). With its claim to be one of Korea's most efficient models, industry observers are watching to see how the Niro performs in the market.
