Prospective import-car buyers take note
“300,000 options”

BMW Korea said it will dramatically expand option combinations in its customer-order program, BMW Individual — increasing choices from roughly 22,000 to as many as 300,000.
That represents about a 13.6-fold increase. Launched in Korea in 2024, the program’s strong uptake among luxury customers prompted the boost in choices.
BMW is leaning into a cultural shift: cars have become an extension of personal identity and lifestyle, not just a means of transport.
With personalization rising across the luxury segment, BMW Korea’s move is more than an uptick in options. It’s a strategic effort to shape the entire purchase journey into a premium experience.
The program currently operates in seven showrooms nationwide; industry observers will be watching for the ripple effects.
300,000 choices — even a single color offers 150 variations

The BMW Individual program lets buyers specify exterior and interior details across the vehicle — from paint and body lines to interior trim, seat materials and colors, and wheel designs.
The expansion centers on Individual-exclusive paint options. BMW will offer up to 150 colors per model, allowing customers to dial in subtle differences in hue and finish.
The program is limited to five flagship models: the 750e xDrive (plug-in hybrid sedan), the i7 xDrive60 (battery-electric), the i7 M70 xDrive (M Performance), the X7 M60i xDrive (full-size SUV), and the XM Label (luxury coupe-style SUV). Being restricted to flagship models enhances the service’s exclusivity.
Turn the wait into a VIP experience — dedicated inspection team and enclosed transport

Long delivery waits are a perennial challenge for bespoke-order services. BMW Korea flipped that problem into a feature: customers can take long-term test drives in a same-series model while they wait for their bespoke vehicle to arrive.
The intent is to let buyers live with the model and confirm fit and feel well before handover.
Pre-delivery perks go beyond loaner access. Customers receive invitations to signature events such as the BMW Excellence Lounge and the BMW Ladies Championship, and they can preview the fine-dining benefits of the BMW Excellence Club ahead of delivery.
At handover, a dedicated team conducts a final inspection and the vehicle is transported in an enclosed carrier to ensure a pristine delivery. From contract signing through final handover, BMW frames the entire journey as a single premium service.
