Refreshed model debuts
Eco-focused SUV with combined fuel economy of 20.2km/ℓ (about 47.5 mpg US)
Expanded advanced safety and convenience features

Kia unveiled a refreshed version of its flagship eco SUV, the New Niro, and began taking orders on the 10th.
This model builds on the second-generation Niro, which debuted in 2022, and represents the vehicle’s first significant product refresh in roughly four years.
While retaining a combined fuel economy of 20.2km/ℓ (about 47.5 mpg US), Kia sharpened the design and upgraded safety and convenience features to strengthen the model’s competitiveness.
Refined exterior and interior design

Kia applied its Opposites United design philosophy to the exterior.
At the front, the company added the Star Map signature daytime running lights, which emphasize horizontal and vertical lines for a modern look. The side profile now shows a sleek roofline and restrained body lines that create a refined silhouette.
Inside, Kia installed a 12.3-inch panoramic curved display that combines the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. A double D-cut two-tone steering wheel and new-pattern interior trim materials enhance the cabin’s premium feel.
Improved efficiency and ride comfort

The Niro uses a 1.6-liter hybrid system that delivers a peak output of 141 hp and peak torque of 27.0 kgf·m (about 195.3 lb-ft). Its combined fuel economy of 20.2km/ℓ ranks among the best in its class (about 47.5 mpg US).
Kia’s smart regenerative braking system automatically adjusts regeneration levels based on the distance to the vehicle ahead and available road information. The car also analyzes driving routes and road conditions with a predictive hybrid control system to optimize battery use.
Engineers retuned the suspension and improved body sound insulation to enhance ride comfort and reduce cabin noise.
Expanded connectivity and safety features

Kia added a range of modern convenience features to the Niro.
Key additions include over-the-air (OTA) wireless software updates, Digital Key 2, Walk Away Lock, and Stay Mode, all designed to improve everyday usability.
The company also expanded its advanced driver-assistance systems, made ten airbags standard, and broadened features such as Highway Driving Assist 2, Lane Keeping Assist 2, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist.
Kia strengthened the in-car digital experience by integrating the Kia Connect Store and natural-language AI voice recognition.
Some owners report city fuel economy reaching as high as 30km/ℓ (about 70.6 mpg US). With class-leading efficiency, it will be worth watching how the refreshed Niro performs in the market.
