BYD Denza D9 Opens 2026 Preorders
Up to 800 km Range and Ultra-Fast Charging
Accelerating Push to Dominate Premium Electric MPV Market

BYD’s premium marque Denza will open local preorders for the redesigned D9 MPV on March 29.
The 2026 D9 keeps the previous model’s strengths while receiving substantial upgrades focused on battery capacity and charging performance.
The line now covers both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery-electric (BEV) variants to broaden its market appeal.
Minimal Design Changes… Maintains Refinement

Exterior updates are conservative and concentrate on the front end.
A redesigned grille adds visual depth, but the overall MPV silhouette remains familiar.
The D9’s dimensions—5,250 mm in length with a 3,110 mm wheelbase—deliver the generous interior space expected in a large MPV (about 206.7 in / 17 ft 2.7 in long with a 122.4 in / 10 ft 2.4 in wheelbase).
That approach appears intended to sharpen the package while retaining the model’s existing buyer base.
Up to 800 km Range
Stronger Electrified Performance

The D9 will be offered with two powertrain architectures: a PHEV and a BEV.
The PHEV pairs a 1.5‑liter turbo engine with dual electric motors and is claimed to deliver more than 400 km of pure electric driving range (over 249 miles).
The BEV version targets up to 800 km under the CLTC cycle (roughly 497 miles), and the all‑wheel‑drive system is rated at about 550 horsepower of combined output.
Those figures put the D9 near the top of the large MPV segment for electrified performance.
5-Minute Charging Tech…
Shifting the Premium MPV Landscape

The updated D9 uses BYD’s Short Blade 2.0 battery chemistry.
BYD says the pack can charge from 10% to 70% in roughly five minutes and reach about 97% in nine minutes, enabling ultra‑fast charging on compatible equipment.
The model also receives the latest God’s Eye 5.0 driver‑assist suite to improve safety and convenience.
With Denza already controlling roughly 60% of China’s premium electric MPV segment, industry sources say the upgrades are designed to accelerate the brand’s push into global markets.
