Tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz — which had resumed under a two-week U.S.-Iran truce — has been suspended again, according to reports.

Iran's Fars News Agency reported on April 8 (local time) that tanker movements through the strait halted as Israeli airstrikes hit Lebanon.

Earlier that morning, after a dramatic U.S.-Iran agreement put a two-week truce into effect, two tankers transited the strait with authorization from Iranian authorities.

But as Israel carried out what it described as its largest-ever airstrikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon and struck Beirut again, tensions spiked and Iran appeared to tighten control over the waterway.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi formally raised Israel's alleged truce violations with Pakistan's army chief, Gen. Asim Munir, the officer who helped broker the agreement.
