YouTuber Park Wi addressed criticism surrounding his channel's newly launched paid-membership program.
On April 20, Park Wi posted a comment on his YouTube channel Wiracle, saying he has been working to deliver content that reflects the channel's positive values to subscribers.
He added that it pains him to learn a decision he made after long deliberation—intended to improve the channel’s content—may have hurt some viewers, and he expressed sincere gratitude for those who offered their support.
Earlier, on April 16, Park Wi and Song Ji-eun uploaded a video titled "Become a Member of the Wiracle Family" to announce the paid membership.
In the video, Park explained that after lengthy consideration and numerous internal meetings, they launched the membership to build a stronger sense of family and create another avenue for communication with viewers.
Reactions among subscribers were mixed. Some pledged their support and said they would join, while others criticized the move, saying the channel had "lost its original spirit" or expressing disappointment.
In 2014, a fall left Park Wi completely paralyzed; through rehabilitation he regained movement in his upper body. He has since documented his daily life and recovery on YouTube, and he married Song Ji-eun in 2024.
