(The CEN News / Reporter Baek Hyun-woo) Consumers are craving high-performance ingredients — but they don’t want the irritation that often comes with them. That shift has driven growing demand for functional skincare that delivers visible results without the sting.

Skincare brand Terrin said it recently launched the Kikuchiol Ampoule after it passed the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) review for wrinkle-improvement functionality. Terrin designed the ampoule as a gentle daily solution to address the irritation and redness often linked to ingredients like retinol.

Its star ingredient is Kikuchiol, a patent-pending compound Terrin developed. Kikuchiol combines chrysanthemum (kiku) extract — prized for its antioxidant properties — with bakuchiol, a popular retinol alternative. The blend is formulated to calm skin while targeting wrinkles and improving elasticity. Terrin used a proprietary formulation system to stabilize the synergy between the two components.

What sets the product apart is its double validation. The Kikuchiol Ampoule passed the MFDS functional-cosmetics review for wrinkle improvement, confirming its efficacy, and it scored 0.00 — a no-irritation result — in human application low-irritation testing.

Terrin plans to expand its efficacy-focused lineup starting with the Kikuchiol Ampoule and aims to strengthen its position as a go-to daily anti-aging brand for consumers with sensitive skin.

A Terrin spokesperson said many anti-aging products that promise wrinkle improvement create barriers for sensitive-skin consumers because of irritation concerns. By securing both MFDS functional certification and no-irritation verification, the Kikuchiol Ampoule offers a worry-free daily wrinkle-care option for those prone to sensitivity, the spokesperson said.
