Theborn Korea announced on March 9 that it has opened its second Korean food counter in the food court of a Globus hypermarket in Germany.

The second location is in Eschborn, a business hub just outside Frankfurt that's packed with global company offices and corporate facilities. Theborn Korea provides consulting on menu composition and cooking methods, while Globus kitchen staff prepare the dishes using locally sourced ingredients.

The menu focuses on bibimbap and rice bowls, letting customers choose their protein—chicken, pork, beef, or a vegetarian option—and pick their sauce.

Theborn Korea opened its first outlet last July at Globus’s Sankt Wendel store. With the second location, the company aims to confirm demand for Korean dishes in areas with different market characteristics.

Theborn Korea is currently discussing potential sites for a third outlet with Globus and is considering whether to expand Korean food corners across roughly 40 Globus hypermarkets in Germany.

On the international front, the company is exploring multi-brand store models in mixed-use shopping centers, B2B sauce supply agreements, and the development of retail products for distribution. It is also pursuing a Japan entry for its coffee brand Paikdabang.

A Theborn Korea spokesperson said, “Opening the second Globus outlet is a meaningful milestone because it expands our global food‑consulting model and establishes a standardized system that can be operated locally.” The spokesperson added, “This year, we plan to accelerate the expansion of Globus corners and broaden our overseas business portfolio by linking integrated franchise solutions for mixed-use spaces with B2B, distribution, and joint development.”
