[BetaNews reporter Gwak Jeong-il] Compose Coffee announced on April 2 that a pre-opening event ahead of the official launch of its first Taiwan location confirmed strong local interest.

The company held the pre-open on March 30 to gauge market response and test its operating systems. Although the event only ran from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., customers began lining up as early as 8 a.m., before doors opened — a clear sign of high local demand.

During operating hours, the store sold about one drink every 20 seconds. On average, roughly 150 people waited outside, and the typical wait time per customer was around two hours. Despite the long waits, most customers stayed in line and showed genuine excitement for the brand.

Local customers praised Compose Coffee for its lower prices compared with competitors, large portion sizes, and Korean-style smoothies not found at other coffee chains. They also responded enthusiastically to a variety of Korea-focused menu items. Fan favorites — including the iced Americano, red-bean rice cake milkshake, and dalgona latte — resonated with Taiwanese customers and helped the brand stand out from local competitors.

Compose Coffee plans to officially open its first Taiwan location on April 14.
