[RealFood = Reporter Yuk Seong-yeon] Burger King is rolling out three new entries to its Maximum series — the Garlic Bulgogi Maximum lineup — starting on the 12th.

The Garlic Bulgogi Maximum expands the brand’s Garlic Bulgogi Whopper into three sizes based on patty count. The Garlic Bulgogi Maximum 2 stacks two patties with sliced cheese; the Garlic Bulgogi Maximum 3 piles on three patties with cheese and garlic chips; and the Garlic Bulgogi One Pounder is a four-patty behemoth for serious appetite challengers.

The Maximum series, which debuted in 2023, has since included Quattro, Bulyangyang, Whole Shrimp and The Ochi Maximum. Notably, The Ochi Maximum moved 250,000 units within two weeks of its launch last year.

Burger King is also launching a promotion tied to the release. The Patty Alliance Ranking Contest lets up to five people form a team in the Burger King app; the app then totals the number of patties each member purchases to determine alliance rankings.

As a sweetener, purchases from the new Garlic Bulgogi Maximum line earn double patty credits. Based on final rankings, Burger King will award prizes to a total of 186 alliances (up to 930 people): first place (one alliance) will win a Galaxy Watch 8 or Apple Watch 11; second place (five alliances) will get Galaxy Buds 4 or AirPods 4; and third place (30 alliances) will receive a 50,000 KRW Google gift card (37.50 USD).

The ranking contest runs from the product launch on the 12th through April 12 — roughly one month. Participation is open to adults aged 19 and over.

For the advertising campaign, Burger King has once again tapped Choo Sung-hoon, the face behind The Ochi Maximum’s success.

A Burger King spokesperson said, "The Maximum series is a platform for customers to enjoy pushing their limits, and we've added a new element called the 'Alliance Battle.'"
