[TheGuroo = Reporter Lee Kkot-deul] FNS Retail’s women’s shoe label Sappun is stepping into the Indonesian market. Born online, the fashion-forward brand is now eyeing quick expansion across Vietnam and Japan next.
On the 13th, FNS Retail announced that Surya Bumi Retailindo — an Indonesian retail group that handles more than 20 global brands, including Salomon and Dickies — signed an exclusive local distribution deal for Sappun. The partnership sets a clear growth plan: five stores by year’s end and an ambitious rollout to 30 stores within five years.
Sappun has already launched standalone shops in three of Jakarta’s most sought-after shopping destinations: Lippo Mall Puri, Plaza Senayan, and Grand Indonesia. These malls draw affluent, trend-conscious shoppers, giving the brand a prime stage to build awareness. Some locations are already posting sales on par with Sappun’s offline stores in Korea, signaling strong local potential.
By teaming up with an experienced local distributor, Sappun aims to lower market-entry risks while laying the groundwork for sustainable growth. Surya Bumi Retailindo’s track record in sports, fashion, and lifestyle brands makes it a natural partner to lead Sappun’s localization strategy and expand its distribution network.
After Indonesia, Sappun plans to broaden its footprint across Southeast Asia — starting with Vietnam — and into Japan. The brand credits its loyal online customer base and the rising global appetite for K-fashion as the driving forces behind its Asian push.
