By Kim Mi-hee, The Public — Lotte Department Store will host the Bandai Namco Fancy Festa on the first floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil from April 22 through May 6.
Bandai Namco, often dubbed "Japan’s Disney," maintains an extensive catalog of character IP and operates as a global entertainment company. It has built a multigenerational following with adult-oriented collectible devices such as the Tamagotchi and gashapon (capsule toys), along with franchises including Dragon Ball, Digimon and Gundam.
At Lotte Town Jamsil, the mall will bring those properties together in one festival-like showcase. The event features everything from Nano Block sets—build-your-own characters like Pokémon and Kirby—to Kkokkoma Friends Sanrio characters.
Notably, the popup will offer officially stocked Tamagotchi, which have been scarce across retail channels. Lotte secured a large allocation of the new Tamagotchi Paradise and will unveil a limited-collaboration Nano Tamagotchi. The Nano Tamagotchi is more than half the size of the standard model and includes a keyring strap, making it a collectible accessory that has attracted a dedicated fan base. Official accessories such as Tamagotchi pouches and Tamagotchi case bags will also be available.
The popup includes a hands-on gashapon area — the capsule-toy machines credited with launching gacha culture. Visitors can try a variety of machines stocked with limited-edition capsules featuring popular characters like Pikmin, Pokémon and Sanrio.
To mark the Jamsil popup, Lotte is offering several purchase incentives. Customers who buy a Tamagotchi or a Nano Block set will receive a free Nano Block "Mamechi" Clear Version while supplies last. During the popup, select items — including Tamagotchi case bags, Precure merchandise and non-character Nano Block sets — will be discounted by up to 60%.
