'Jeon Hyun-moo Project 3': On Joo-wan Shares Candid Love Story with Wife Minah — From a Five-Year Courtship to Marriage.
On the April 10 broadcast of MBN's Jeon Hyun-moo Project 3, actor On Joo-wan opened up about his relationship with Girl's Day member Minah, recounting their five-year courtship and eventual marriage.
\"We dated for five years and then got married,\" On said. \"It wasn't a secret relationship. Even when we were holding hands in public, the press still covered it.\" He added that although they shared couple photos on Instagram, they somehow managed to stay under the radar for a long time.
When host Jeon Hyun-moo quipped, \"I get dating rumors even when I'm not dating,\" On laughed and said he and Minah would joke, \"Maybe the world just isn't interested in us.\"
On and Minah first met on the 2016 drama Beautiful Gongshim. \"Minah played Gongshim, and I played the chaebol who liked Gongshim,\" he recalled. \"I was 34 and Minah was 24 — a 10-year gap — so I didn't have romantic feelings back then.\"
Their relationship deepened while they were performing in a musical together. On said that when Minah told him she wanted to try musical theater, he encouraged her to audition. \"I played a bodyguard and Minah played an interpreter. There was a love scene,\" he remembered.
\"We had a love line and practiced 10 hours a day. We were together all day,\" On said, explaining why he confessed first. \"I told her, 'I think I'm starting to like you.' Why should I hold back?\"
He also shared a sweet detail: during rehearsals he would whisper, \"I think I like you,\" so only Minah could hear.
During the show, Jeon Hyun-moo set up a phone challenge called \"Newlywed Match,\" asking On and YouTuber GwakTube to call their partners and hear them say \"I love you.\" Both men failed on their first attempts, but On called again and reached Minah.
When On asked for a romantic line, Minah teased, \"Why are you doing things you don't usually do?\" then playfully asked, \"Do you love me?\" Asked what she liked about On, Minah said, \"He's handsome. Above all, he's truly kind.\"
On the subject of children, Minah said she hopes for a son, while On confessed he would prefer a daughter, revealing a playful difference in preference. Minah joked that she'll make sure to feed their child well because he \"eats a lot,\" showcasing the couple's warm, affectionate dynamic.
