On the afternoon of March 10, JYP Entertainment announced that Park will not seek reappointment as an executive director at the shareholder meeting scheduled for March 26.
He said he will refocus on his creative work as an artist, mentor emerging artists and pursue new external initiatives for the K-pop industry.
JYP noted that since his debut in 1994, Park has been active as a singer, songwriter and producer, and will continue to lead various initiatives across the K-pop industry.
