Actor Jin Seoyeon is set to appear on MBC's Radio Star to lay out her so-called “god-life” routine — a disciplined daily regimen that balances workouts, English study, stage acting and essay writing. She speaks candidly about her busy, multifaceted life, from community activities on Jeju Island to her evolving career as a writer.
The March 11 episode of MBC's Radio Star (created by Choi Yoon-jung; directed by Yoon Hye-jin, Hwang Yoon-sang and Byeon Da-hee) will feature Jin Seoyeon alongside Geum Sae-rok, Joo Jong-hyuk and Kwak Beom in a “So Versatile~” special.
Jin says she maintains a strict self-care routine with regular exercise and ongoing English lessons. She also recently released an essay collection titled "I Will Endure" and has been active as a writer, taking on new projects despite a packed schedule. Jin discusses how the book reached a fourth printing and shares behind-the-scenes details from the writing process, offering frank reflections on embracing fresh challenges.
She opens up about her life on Jeju Island, where she’s integrated into local life through a slew of groups — a book club, a sauna club and a marine debris cleanup team — and has settled into the island’s rhythms. She had the studio laughing with anecdotes from a Jeju sauna group whose members have an average age of 60 or older.
Jin recounts the surprise of learning that several sauna members were influential landowners on Jeju. She describes how she built rapport with them, became part of their group chat and even received pocket money on her birthday — a revelation that left everyone astonished.
She also traces the origins of her acting career. Jin says she had originally been preparing to audition for a dance program but, after an unexpected turn, decided to apply to theater and film instead. Despite a short preparation window, she was accepted into four schools, including the Seoul Institute of the Arts, and shares the preparation strategies and memories behind that achievement.
Jin even shares a behind-the-scenes story from the music video shoot for Park Hyo-shin's "Being Such a Common Man," revealing how a planned kiss scene was suddenly dropped and recounting other unpredictable moments on set that had everyone laughing.
Beyond her work as an actress, Jin Seoyeon will candidly discuss her life as a writer and the array of community activities that shape her days on Jeju. Viewers can catch the multifaceted life of Jin Seoyeon on Radio Star, airing Wednesday, March 11 at 10:30 p.m.
