On April 24, Pearl Abyss said it released the first official soundtrack for Red Desert, titled Red Desert Original Soundtrack Volume 1.
Players can download the official Red Desert OST as a free DLC on Steam. The album is available in MP3 and FLAC, allowing listeners to enjoy studio-mastered, high-quality audio.
Based on the development team's musical direction, the album attempts to give musical life to the continent of Paiwel. It captures the vast open-world atmosphere through dense, immersive soundscapes meant to deepen gameplay immersion and complement the game's worldbuilding.
The 75-track collection is organized into four thematic sets: Themes, which serves as a sweeping, epic prologue; Battles, which portrays brutal clashes; Exploration, which evokes the breath and moods of the open world; and Bosses, which conveys the resolve and awe tied to victory. Together, they reflect the game's key moments and emotions.
The official Red Desert OST is also available on the game's YouTube channel and the \"Pearl Abyss Music\" channel. The soundtrack will later be released on major platforms, including the Epic Games Store, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and Melon.
Ryu Hwi-man, Pearl Abyss's lead audio director, said, \"Since the game's launch, players around the world have asked to own the OST, so we decided to offer the high-quality audio for free. We hope players will once again feel the thrill of Paiwel through the music our composers and the development team carefully prepared.\"
Red Desert is an open-world action-adventure that follows protagonist Cliff and his gray-maned companions. It is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, macOS, the Epic Games Store and ROG Xbox Ally. Released globally on March 21, the game surpassed 5 million copies in worldwide sales within 26 days of its launch.
