BLACKPINK's Jennie is taking legal action over alleged invasions of privacy and the spread of false information.
Jennie's agency, OAE Entertainment, said on March 9 that malicious slander and baseless speculation about the artist have proliferated on online communities and social media, repeatedly harming her reputation by spreading falsehoods.
The agency added that wholly fabricated posts have damaged the artist's reputation, and that invasions of privacy — from disrupting her personal time to following her movements — have increased, prompting grave concern.

The agency said it is continuously monitoring social media and other online platforms to gather evidence, and it is preparing legal action with counsel. It warned that, depending on the seriousness of each case, it will pursue strong measures — including civil and criminal proceedings — against acts that infringe the artist's reputation and rights, portrait rights, other intellectual property, or privacy, and that there will be no leniency or settlements in that process.
Jennie departed for France on March 7 to attend a fashion show. A video that circulated online showed her visibly stressed as fans in Paris aggressively sought autographs and took photos while she was en route, drawing concern.
Below is the full statement from OAE Entertainment.
Hello. This is OAE Entertainment.
Recently, malicious slander and baseless, speculative posts about our artist Jennie (JENNIE) have proliferated on online communities and social media, repeatedly damaging her reputation by spreading falsehoods.
In particular, we have seen wholly fabricated posts that harm the artist's reputation, and we have also observed a rise in privacy intrusions, such as disrupting her personal time or following her movements. We regard this situation with the utmost seriousness.
Accordingly, we are continuously monitoring social media and online platforms and collecting related materials. We are preparing legal responses, based on legal counsel, to address acts that infringe the artist's reputation and rights.
We will take firm action — including civil and criminal measures, depending on the severity of the offense — against acts that infringe the artist's reputation and rights, portrait rights, other intellectual property, or privacy. We make clear there will be no leniency or settlements in this process.
We also appreciate the materials fans submit; those reports are a great help in protecting the artist.
If you discover related cases, please submit them to the contact below. We will review reports thoroughly.
We will continue our monitoring and systematic responses to ensure that neither the artist nor her fans suffer harm.
