Singer Seo In-young addressed past remarks she made about Brown Eyed Girls member Gain and spoke candidly about the fallout.
On the 26th, Seo’s YouTube channel "Reformed Seo In-young" uploaded a video titled "Seo In-young Returns After 10 Years: Reading Hate Comments (Truth and Lies)." It marked her first on-camera appearance in a decade, during which she read and reacted to online hate comments.
Seo revisited a long-running rumor about a rift with Gain after their joint appearance on MBC’s Radio Star. At the time, Seo posted a lengthy message on social media, writing, "It wasn’t just that I felt bad — I don’t think saying I was furious with someone sitting right next to me was appropriate."
On the show, Gain said she was initially upset when Seo misunderstood Narsha — who is three years her senior — and treated her as if they were the same age, even calling her "cute." Seo recalled, "I got angry because Gain suddenly brought that up. I really was angry. It felt like being hit with a frying pan. Narsha and I had already cleared things up and gotten close after appearing on Yeng-ung Ho-geol, so it was frustrating to have that remark resurface later."
When producers pointed out that Seo had made her displeasure public on social media after the Radio Star episode, Seo laughed and admitted she regretted her reaction. "So why did I post it in such a long, drawn-out way?" she asked, then added, "It was crazy. I’m so embarrassed." She remembered waking up the next morning to a call from Heo Ji-woong, who teased her, "Why did you post that without even spacing it out, like rapping?" — a detail she said made her feel even more ashamed.
Seo said she’s embarrassed in hindsight but confirmed that she and Gain have since reconciled. She admitted she hadn’t apologized at the time and expressed regret, saying she is truly sorry that the situation unfolded the way it did.
