That day, Cha spoke about his eldest son, Su-chan, who is now an adult. \"We didn't talk much before, but since he turned 20 we've gotten more comfortable with each other,\" he said.
He added, \"I thought about having a drink with him once he turned 20. Now we sometimes have one or two drinks, and we definitely talk more,\" describing the closening of their relationship.
Shin also mentioned his daughter Ji-hyo, who enrolled at Seoul National University this year, saying she’s become more relaxed since starting college. \"She has a lot of gatherings at school, and she seems to drink quite a bit,\" he said.\"She seems to handle alcohol well,\" he continued. \"Once I asked, 'How much did you drink?' and she showed me her phone. It listed the numbers 1 through 23. She told me she was keeping count of each soju shot. She looked after her friends and seniors, helped them get taxis, and then came home,\" he recounted.
Seo Jang-hoon quipped, \"You can't escape the drinking DNA passed down from the father.\"
Shin Dong-yup married producer Sun Hye-yoon in 2006; the couple has a son and a daughter. Their daughter Ji-hyo recently drew attention after being admitted to both Seoul National University's College of Education, Department of Physical Education, and the Korea National University of Arts' School of Dance.
