[MyDaily = Reporter Moon Ji-hyun] Yoo In-young bought a designer watch secondhand and went to have it authenticated.
On her YouTube channel \"InyoungInyoung,\" she uploaded a video called “My watch is fake? So I went to get it authenticated.” Yoo said the positive response to her last watch video made her happy, but many comments suggested that because the Chanel watch arrived via a courier from a private sale, “it must be fake.”
She admitted she never once suspected it might be counterfeit, but those comments planted a seed of doubt. Worried, she decided to get the watch checked. The seller reportedly bought it in Japan, and the watch arrived without its box or guarantee card.

Yoo said about 60% of friends and viewers who saw the video thought the watch looked fake. Some even asked her to call them right after the authentication. The seller’s Danggeun score was 99, which made Yoo hopeful the watch was genuine, though she still felt nervous.
The authentication fee was 120,000 KRW (about $90), and she paced while worrying it might be a fake. The expert delivered the good news: “It’s authentic. The engravings are correct, and it uses an ETA movement marked 976 001 — Chanel appears to have left the engraving. We’ll replace the battery for you,” which surprised everyone.
Yoo was visibly moved and on the verge of tears. “I paid 2,500,000 KRW (about $1,875) for this. I trusted it from the start. If you do your homework and buy carefully, you can score great pieces at bargain prices,” she said. A friend with her jokingly asked to be introduced to the Danggeun seller.

She laughed, saying, “Thanks to subscribers who teased me about buying a fake, I can now wear this watch with confidence. I checked everything before I bought it,” which prompted playful applause.
Viewers commented things like, “She’s lucky,” “It’s authentic,” “She met a good seller,” “If Yoo In-young wears it, it must be real,” “I want to know about that Danggeun 99 score,” “The authentication fee was worth it,” and “Still—be careful with online classifieds.”
