[MyDaily = Reporter Moon Ji-hyun] TV personality Jang Young-ran has announced she's launching a new business.
She recently posted a video on her YouTube channel A-Grade Jang Young-ran titled "Jang Young-ran Confesses a Shocking Secret She Hid for Two Years (Must Watch Until the End)." In the clip, she teases that she’ll reveal her only male friend — who, she says, doesn’t know there’s a camera. "This is an honest confession while I’m drunk," she adds.
When Jang arrived at the meeting spot, she greeted the channel’s producer with a bright smile. "Meeting you worked out so well for me, and I think it did for you, too. I’m so grateful — you raised me from C-grade to A-," she told him. The producer playfully shot back, "To be honest, you were a D," drawing amused laughter.

Jang admitted she never expected this level of success. "With my husband in the hospital and raising kids, things were tough. I didn’t realize doing YouTube would make me feel this happy day to day," she said. The producer replied, "We started with six staff and now have 50. We’re moving offices in March — to a 200-pyeong space (about 7,117 sq ft)." The news left Jang stunned.
After a few drinks, Jang told viewers she wants to give back to her followers. "When I released the shampoo before, it felt like a gift. It was so rewarding. Women want to feel beautiful, and doing PPLs taught me a lot about cosmetics. I’m preparing to launch a cosmetics brand," she said.
She revealed the brand name: "Dear Girl." "Every mom has a girl inside her. I want to give a gift to that girl. It’s also a message to my daughter — if you’re going to use makeup, use products like this," she explained.

The producer voiced a candid concern: "My worry is that because 'Youngran New' landed so well, people will say, 'Now she’s moving into cosmetics — she’s just cashing in.' But I don’t think that’s the case," he added, clearly conflicted.
Jang explained she developed a sheet mask and tested it for several years to get it just right. She documented the production process on camera to show her commitment and even asked the producer to bring a camera to the manufacturer to support negotiations.
To keep costs down, the launched mask skips a box and removes anything unnecessary. Jang set target order quantities and promised to take responsibility for them during talks, and the manufacturer agreed. That negotiation produced a bundle of 10 masks priced at 7,900KRW (about $5).
On the Dear Girl sales page, the product sold out as soon as the video dropped. The seller posted: "Thanks to our customers’ overwhelming support, the stock we prepared sold out faster than expected. We’re confirming the earliest restock date so more people can receive the product as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience."

Meanwhile, Jang’s own weight-management functional supplement, Youngran New, has become a hit — surpassing 10 million cumulative units produced within three months of launch and earning widespread popularity.
