[Herald Economy=Senior Reporter Park Jong-il] On May 2, Seongbuk District hosted the final of the 17th Seongbuk Arirang Children's Song Festival at Baram Madang on the Seongbuk District Office grounds, showcasing bright, clear performances by young singers.Fifteen teams that advanced from preliminary rounds competed in the finals. The preliminaries had drawn strong interest, with 44 teams participating.
The competitors were divided into three groups: ▷ five kindergarten teams ▷ five lower elementary teams ▷ five upper elementary teams. Judges named, in each division, one grand prize winner, one top prize winner, and three excellence awardees.
Children performed onstage for families and other audience members who gathered around to watch.
Last year’s winners returned for a congratulatory performance, and the program closed with a Magic Bubble Show that delighted the kids.
Baram Madang and the surrounding Seongbuk District Office area were buzzing with visitors, as the festival ran alongside the same-day Children’s Friend Seongbuk Festival. Attendees enjoyed the performances and visited play and activity booths.
A Seongbuk official said, "The children’s performances on stage were impressive," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create a child-friendly environment where kids can freely pursue their dreams and play."
