On the 11th in Shanghai, the province signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with global online travel platform Trip.com Group to promote and increase sales of North Gyeongsang tourism packages. Through the agreement, they plan targeted marketing campaigns for China’s Labor Day holiday and the summer school break.

Promotional material highlights a range of attractions: historic and cultural sites like Gyeongju and Andong; urban landmarks in cities such as Pohang; immersive food and cultural experiences across the province; and local festivals. Officials will also tap local influencers to broaden their reach among Chinese travelers.

On the 12th, the province took part in the 2026 K-Tourism Roadshow in Shenzhen, where it held a North Gyeongsang tourism briefing and B2B meetings alongside the Korea Tourism Organization.

At the event, officials showcased the province’s appeal by featuring UNESCO World Heritage sites—Bulguksa and Seokguram—Andong’s Hahoe Village, popular drama filming locations, regional cuisine, and festival lineups.

Park Chan-woo, director of the province’s Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau, said, "It’s important to convert the increased international recognition from the 2025 APEC summit into tourist arrivals," and added, "We will pursue global expansion of North Gyeongsang tourism by targeting the Chinese market."
