Gapyeong County said on May 5 that it had successfully completed the 2026 Gapyeong MORE-Stay Tourism Fam Tour, part of its push to attract visitors to stay longer.
Twelve people joined the fam tour, including officials from the Korea Tourism Organization and members of a university student press corps. The two-day program ran May 1–2.
Participants wandered the bright flower paths at the Garden of Morning Calm, visited a sheep farm and the Begonia New Garden, and got a firsthand feel for Gapyeong’s restorative vibe. At The Stay Healing Park, they soaked in nature while enjoying on-site lodging and dining—an immersive extended-stay experience rather than a quick stopover.
On the second day, they tried the bridge zipline, gliding over Gapyeong’s ridgelines and capturing lively footage that highlights the area’s appeal as an active, adventure-ready destination.
The county plans to keep developing hands-on programs linked to local restaurants and accommodations to give the regional economy a boost.
“We hope this fam tour showed that Gapyeong is a place to stay and savor, not just a place to pass through,” a county official said. “Seen through the eyes of trend-savvy young people, Gapyeong’s charm will attract even more visitors.” {vi29}
