Gurye County in South Jeolla Province has turned BingGurye Station into a breezy local tourism hub that blends a marketplace for regional goods, visitor information, and bike rentals. Rather than just a shop, it’s now a launchpad where travelers can linger, plan their route, and set off on an adventure.
Gurye County announced that the BingGurye Market inside the station opened on March 28. The market showcases regional agricultural specialties and tourist goods and spotlights "Made in Gurye" items crafted by local creators.
On top of serving as an information center, the station recently launched a tourist-oriented bike rental service. Families, couples, and groups of friends can pedal along the scenic Seomjin River, and officials say demand has stayed strong—particularly on weekends and public holidays.
Bicycle rentals cost 500 KRW (approximately $0.38) per hour. The service runs Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with rentals available at BingGurye Station.
BingGurye Station’s strength is that it links local spending and visitor routes in one compact spot. Guests can rent a bike, explore the Seomjin River area, then return to browse the market’s local finds—an approach that encourages longer stays and small-scale local spending.
A Gurye County official said, “We will identify distinctive Gurye products and expand tourism services, including bike rentals, to develop BingGurye Station into a destination travelers seek out.”
