Incheon — Energy Economy News reporter Inho Song: Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok toured the Cheongra Sky Bridge tourism complex, which is scheduled to open next month, to conduct final safety inspections.

City officials say they’re taking extra care to review operational readiness and safety measures before the public arrives, since the bridge is being developed as a new signature landmark for Incheon.

On March 25, the city said Mayor Yoo visited the Cheongra Sky Bridge site to personally review the facility’s operation plans, safety-management systems, and visitor amenities.

Construction crews are putting the finishing touches on the tourism facilities, with officials gearing up for a formal opening next month.

The city intends to position the bridge not just as transportation infrastructure but as a cultural and marine tourism hub.

The bridge’s main attraction is The Sky 184, a tower observatory rising 184.2 m (about 604 ft) — the tallest observatory on any sea bridge in the world.

Guinness World Records has recognized the observatory as the world’s highest sea-bridge observatory, and officials expect it to become a must-visit spot with sweeping views of the Yellow Sea and downtown Incheon.

One standout feature is the Edge Walk, an experiential attraction that lets visitors walk along the tower’s outer wall — the first installation of its kind on a bridge anywhere in the world.

This high-altitude experience, offering simultaneous views of sea and city, is likely to draw visitors looking for a one-of-a-kind adventure.

Admission is 15,000 KRW (about $11.25) for the upper observation deck and 60,000 KRW (about $45.00) for the Edge Walk (includes the observatory). Incheon residents receive a 50% discount.

The bridge has been designed as a mixed cultural and tourism space that makes use of the structure itself. Under the tower, visitors will find large-scale media art installations and a sea-facing cinema, adding fresh visual attractions.

A seaside promenade deck lets guests stroll above the water to enjoy sunsets over the Yellow Sea, open skies, and city views — a relaxed new way to experience the coast.

The under-bridge attractions are free and open to both residents and tourists.

The city also plans tourism packages linked to Incheon International Airport transfer passengers, the Incheon city tour, and cycling routes such as the "300-ri Bicycle Link," aiming to make Cheongra Sky Bridge a central hub for tourism in Incheon.

Mayor Yoo said, "Cheongra Sky Bridge will be more than a bridge linking Yeongjong and the mainland — it will become a new tourist destination that puts Incheon on the world map. We will complete thorough checks of safety and visitor facilities before opening so residents and tourists can enjoy it with confidence."
