Hamyang County is spotlighting the 21st Hamyang Wild Ginseng Festival at the 6th Korea Festival Expo, held at the Suwon Convention Center for three days starting on the 17th.
About 100 local governments and businesses from across the country are taking part in the expo to showcase regional festivals and tourism offerings. Hamyang plans to promote its signature wild ginseng festival, scheduled for October, while highlighting the county’s top tourist attractions and tourism initiatives.
At the expo, Hamyang will roll out crowd-pleasing, hands-on experiences: a "Make Your Own Wild Ginseng Wine" workshop using five-year-old wild ginseng, a "Find the Golden Ginseng" scavenger game, and social media follow events. On the 18th, officials will also promote the OrreGO Hamyang app with interactive participation events to share Hamyang’s tourism charms nationwide.
Park Jong-su, head of wild ginseng marketing, said, “We will use this expo as a launching pad for full-scale festival promotion. We want to showcase the Wild Ginseng Festival’s unique appeal and do everything we can to attract more visitors to Hamyang.”
The Hamyang Wild Ginseng Festival, centered on premium wild ginseng grown in the foothills of Jirisan and Deogyusan, is Hamyang’s flagship health festival and was named Gyeongsangnam-do’s Cultural Tourism Festival for 2026–2027. This year’s festival will run five days, from October 7 to 11, at Sangnim Park.
