[Jamsil=Sports Today reporter Kang Taegu] Samsung Lions manager Park Jin-man didn't hold back his praise for the players.

Samsung defeated Doosan 5-4 on the road at Jamsil Baseball Stadium on the 28th in the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League.

The victory snapped a seven-game losing streak. Samsung improved to 13-1-11 and stayed in fourth place.

Starter Ariel Hurado turned in a near-perfect outing — seven scoreless innings, six hits, seven strikeouts and no walks — but didn't factor into the decision after the bullpen surrendered runs.

Hurado threw 86 pitches: 11 four-seam fastballs, 29 sinkers, 20 sliders, 3 cutters, 20 changeups and 3 curveballs. His fastball topped out at 150 km/h (about 93 mph).

After the game, Park praised Hurado's performance, saying Hurado dominated for seven innings, giving up no runs and issuing no walks.

He added that, even though Hurado didn't get the win, he once again proved he's a cornerstone of the pitching staff.

Offensively, the biggest contributor was Kim Sung-yoon, who returned after a three-week absence. Kim recorded multiple hits, including the go-ahead RBI in the top of the 10th, and drove the team to victory.

Park lavished praise on Kim, saying that the returning outfielder made decisive plays on offense, defense and the bases — and that it's no exaggeration to say Kim's return ended the skid.

Finally, Park said the weight of the losing streak must have been heavy, but he believes today's win will help the players play with more freedom and confidence moving forward.
