[SPOTV News — Sajik, Reporter Yoon Wook-jae] The Lotte Giants finally stopped the bleeding. After falling into a five-game slide and slipping to last place, Lotte snapped the streak.
On the 23rd at Busan’s Sajik Stadium, the Giants beat the Doosan Bears 6-1 in a 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League matchup.
Starter Elvin Rodriguez delivered six strong innings, throwing 111 pitches while allowing six hits and one walk, striking out eight and yielding one run to earn his third win of the season. Offensively, Jeon Min-jae was a key contributor: he went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, delivered the go-ahead hit and made a pivotal defensive play in the top of the fifth that helped complete a double play.
After the game, Lotte manager Kim Tae-hyung praised his pitching staff and position players. “Rodriguez gave us six innings and kept the damage to a minimum, and relievers Hyun Do-hun, Park Jung-min and Choi Jun-yong did their jobs cleanly,” Kim said. “When we needed runs in the second and fourth innings, the position players — including Jeon — stayed locked in and produced, which made managing the game much easier. This was a victory earned by the whole team doing their jobs on both offense and defense.”
Kim also thanked the fans: “We sincerely appreciate the supporters who filled the first-base stands and kept cheering despite the rough stretch. We’ll come back to Sajik with good results from the three-game road trip this weekend.”
Starting April 24, Lotte heads to Gwangju for a three-game series against the KIA Tigers at KIA Champions Field. Lotte has announced foreign starter Jeremy Bisley, while KIA is expected to start foreign pitcher Adam Oller.
