Yoo Jeong-bok, the People Power Party candidate for Incheon mayor, has drawn attention by expressing a strong commitment to the future of Incheon and South Korea.

On April 29, immediately after announcing his candidacy, Yoo began his campaign by visiting veterans' organizations, sending a clear and forceful message from the outset.

The visit was more than a routine political stop; it signaled his intent to pursue a broader vision for both Incheon and the nation.

That day, Yoo visited the Incheon branch of the Widows' Association for Korea's Fallen Soldiers, followed by a meeting with the Association of Bereaved Families of the War Dead.

At a gathering with Yun In-ja, head of the Widows' Association, and other branch leaders, he said, \"Just as the Incheon Landing Operation defended this city, the sacrifices of veterans' families have made it possible to preserve the Incheon we have today,\" and expressed deep gratitude for their service.

He added, \"To defend Incheon is to defend South Korea. I will campaign in the June 3 local election ready to risk everything.\"

Yun replied, \"I hope you campaign hard and secure victory in this election,\" offering her support.

At the later meeting with the Association of Bereaved Families, Yoo warned, \"South Korea faces a serious crisis. The judiciary's standing has been undermined, and the Democratic Party government is shaking confidence in the courts. I believe unchecked power is tantamount to dictatorship. We must work harder for a better Incheon and a stronger South Korea,\" he said.

He pledged to win the upcoming local election, winning the backing of veterans' families on the conviction that defending Incheon is synonymous with defending the nation.
