The event drew thousands of residents and supporters, including National Assembly member Lee Man-hee, North Gyeongsang gubernatorial candidate Lee Cheol-woo, local elders and leaders of civic organizations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lee Cheol-woo praised Kim, saying, “Over the past four years, Kim Ha-su has demonstrated his capabilities through concrete achievements and results. He should now build on those accomplishments to accelerate Cheongdo’s development—doubling its progress.”

National Assembly member Lee Man-hee urged voters to give Kim another term, noting, “At the central government level, Kim Ha-su is widely regarded as a county executive proven in policy, planning and budgeting. Residents should ensure he gets another opportunity to continue his work.”

In a memorable moment, Kim’s daughter brought out a pair of red sneakers and slipped them onto his feet, asking him to “walk so close to the people that the soles wear thin,” a gesture that drew enthusiastic applause from supporters.

Kim outlined major pledges including the early completion of the Cheongdo Natural Dream Park (Cheongdo’s first industrial complex), free bus service across Cheongdo, extending the Daegu metropolitan rail network to Cheongdo, developing Cheongdo into a wellness tourism destination aimed at attracting 10 million visitors, expanding an agricultural innovation town, and focusing on cultivating talent at top high schools.

In his remarks, Kim promised, “With the trust residents have placed in me, I will pursue continuous governance to achieve Cheongdo’s development. Under a tested spirit of stability and unity, I will increase the value of farmers’ labor, expand opportunities for young people, and make life more comfortable for our seniors.”
