[iNews24 Reporter Kim Da-un] Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, arrived in South Korea on the 28th. He is expected to attend a concert by Han Ji-hee, the wife of Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin, with whom he is known to be close.
Diplomatic sources say Trump Jr. arrived that day for a business trip and does not have any scheduled meetings with South Korea's foreign ministry.
Retail industry sources say Trump Jr. plans to attend a concert on the 29th celebrating the release of Han Ji-hee’s debut album.
Trump Jr. is known to maintain a close personal relationship with Chairman Chung.
Earlier, Chairman Chung and his wife attended President Donald Trump’s inauguration early last year, and were later invited to the president’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach.
In April of last year, Trump Jr. also visited South Korea at Chairman Chung’s invitation and met with leading figures in Korea’s business community.
