2026 영등포구청장 선거: 조유진 후보의 승리와 구민 소통의 중요성

Jo won the primary organized by the Seoul Party Committee and the Yeongdeungpo A and B local committees. She described the outcome as “a victory for the nomination reform we achieved together with residents.”

Victory for members and residents; heading into the general election united

Immediately after the win, Jo called it “a victory for party members and residents who yearn for a new Yeongdeungpo” and thanked the district’s roughly 380,000 residents and party members for their support.

She said that all the candidates who participated in the primary are winners. She expressed gratitude to Jung Ji-young and Lee Seung-hoon for endorsing her after the runoff and pledged to carry forward their policies and vision.

Jo commended Yoo Yeon-sik for his efforts and extended a message of unity to Kim Jung-tae, saying, “Thank you, and I look forward to working together.”

Her campaign said it will build a united front with all competing camps for the general election.

Jo declared, “The general election has already begun,” stressing the need for a district mayor who can communicate with the Lee Jae-myung administration and with Seoul City Hall under Mayor Jeong Won-oh.

“We need a district mayor who engages with residents and cooperates with the district council,” she said, closing with a plea: “Trust Jo Yoo-jin, a fifth-generation Yeongdeungpo native.”

“From now on, I’ll tighten my laces and run toward victory in the general election. Let’s unite and press on for final victory in the June 3 local elections.”
