[SPOTV News=Reporter Bae Seon-young] Singer Lee So-ra revealed that during a prolonged hiatus her weight climbed to about 100 kg (roughly 220 lb).
On the 15th, the Yeojeong Jaehyung channel uploaded a video titled "I've Had All the Poison I Can Take — Stop," which featured Lee So-ra.
In the episode, composer Jung Jae-hyung recalled first connecting with Lee through the OST for the drama I'm Not a Hero, But.... He remembered people telling him, "Sora won't do it; she doesn't leave her house." Lee said she almost turned the offer down—she was lying around at home and doing nothing. "I was that depressed," she said.
Lee described hearing Jung's music as a moment of light breaking through. She told him, "I'll write the lyrics and sing this." Her younger sibling was surprised—Lee had rejected many songs before, but this one pulled at her.
Jung added that Lee reached out at the last possible deadline and asked, "If not me, who will do it?" He said he initially heard no. Because she had been so reclusive, people said she barely existed. He needed to hear the song come from her voice to believe it.
Lee also spoke about the depth of her depression at the time. "I took the elevator outside my building only once a year," she said. "I only went out for performances. I did nothing but stay home." She even injured her throat and feared she might not be able to sing, but her desire to record that song pushed her to participate.
She acknowledged the recording process was difficult, but praised Jung for making it comfortable. "When I finally went out after a long time, I weighed about 100 kg (around 220 lb)," she confessed.
Lee thanked Jung, explaining she lost a lot of weight over the following year. When she went to the hospital for high blood pressure, her reading exceeded 190. She was short of breath and could barely walk. She didn't think she could sing in that condition, but Jung guided her through the sessions, and she was able to complete the recording comfortably.
